The Platinum Jubilee Pageant, a grand spectacle held on Sunday, 5 June 2022 near Buckingham Palace, marked a significant moment in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II. This majestic event showcased the talents of over 10,000 individuals from across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, blending street arts, music, puppets, carnival elements, and elaborate costumes in a vibrant tribute to the Queen’s reign. Additionally, it served as a heartfelt homage to the collective service of people and communities throughout the United Kingdom.
Tropical Isles was proud to be among the participants in this parade, bringing our unique carnival arts flair to the proceedings. Our involvement in the pageant was an opportunity to celebrate and reflect the rich tapestry of culture and community spirit that Tropical Isles represents, set against the backdrop of honouring Queen Elizabeth II’s historic reign. This participation not only allowed us to showcase our creativity and passion for carnival arts on a grand stage but also to stand in solidarity with other communities and groups from across the nation and the Commonwealth in celebrating a momentous occasion.
